1. Who We Are

A Plus Tax MD LLC ("we", "us", "our") is a Maryland-licensed bookkeeping and tax preparation firm. We operate the QuickBooks Online integration referenced by Intuit App ID 0cd88c3e-3819-4f12-b3a6-279ed38b60da to provide professional tax and bookkeeping services to our clients.

2. Data We Access

When you authorize our integration, we access only data necessary for your active tax or bookkeeping engagement, including but not limited to: company information, chart of accounts, journal entries, profit & loss data, balance sheet data, general ledger transactions, customer and vendor lists, sales and purchase invoices, payroll summaries, and related QuickBooks Online financial records, via the com.intuit.quickbooks.accounting scope of the Intuit Developer API.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Preparation of federal, state, and local income tax returns.
• Preparation of financial statements and IRS audit support documentation.
• Bookkeeping clean-up, reconciliation, and advisory services.
• Internal record-keeping required by IRS Circular 230 and applicable professional standards.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to any third party.

4. Where Your Data Is Stored

Data is processed and stored on encrypted, password-protected systems located in the United States and controlled exclusively by A Plus Tax MD LLC. We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest (full-disk encryption + container-level encryption for sensitive workloads).

5. Data Sharing

We share your data only:

• With you (the client) and your authorized representatives.
• With taxing authorities (IRS, state DORs) as required to file your returns.
• With our subcontractors (e.g., e-file transmitters, software vendors) under written confidentiality agreements, and only to the extent necessary.
• When compelled by valid legal process (subpoena, court order).

6. Data Retention

Tax-relevant records are retained for at least 7 years per IRS recordkeeping recommendations and Maryland state requirements. You may request deletion of your data at any time after the retention period expires by contacting us at the address below.

7. Your Rights

You may at any time:

• Disconnect the integration via your QuickBooks Online → Apps settings (see Disconnect instructions).
• Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Lodge a complaint with the IRS Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) or the Maryland Attorney General if applicable.

8. Children

Our service is not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

Material changes to this policy will be communicated by email to active client engagements and updated on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
